Quick Tips:
Advice??
I am subscribed to a lot of wonderful beauty gurus on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and even on blogger, but there are certain ones that I follow because there skin tone, skin color, and especially type of skin seems to be close to mine, I have combination oily skin that is super sensitive, so when someone with dry skin suggests certain skin care products that have worked out for her, I can't hop up and run to the store. I need to find someone that is closer in the range of my skin, That is my first tip to take advice from someone with similar characteristics in skin and preferences.
Always Try!!
When you go to a counter that has the blush that you want to buy, even if you were given previous advice on that blush and your already semi convinced, don't commit to quick. Swatch the blush on your hand, apply the blush to your face and continue shopping around the mall checking how you look in the mirror in different lighting. It would be nice if the whole world was equipped with the lightening of makeup stores that perfects all the tones in your face as a way to help convince you to buy products. The sad reality of the world is no there is not perfect lighting in every setting that it's needed. Test the hold up of the blush color on your face, does it fade during the day? Does it work well on with your foundation? Is it blendable? Bloctchy? Does the product need a primer? Does it need to be set?
Practise Makes Perfect!
You might be thinking to your self that there is a couple of products you bought but you feel like they don't work for you, remember you need to practise with a product. You need to try applying it different ways to get the feel of the product in the best way possible. Some products need supporting products like primers. Even something as simple as applying blush you can need practise on because some blushes with anything heavier than a light dust to the product can leave you looking like a clown. Which in that case the next time you would know to use a lighter hand. Find not only what product works best for you, but what execution works best for you too.
Your Face is a Canvas and you are an Artist!
Experiment ladies! Using different application tools and trying to apply a product with your go-to brush, then with your hands and then maybe a sponge afterwards. Have you ever tried applying your favourite foundation with a damp beauty blender? If you haven't then you should, and you will thank me! Also, try combing up different lipstick colors to get the exact shade you want, a trick I learned from my mom but a good trick indeed. Not just with lipstick but a long while ago I bought a blush that when I put on at home on my fave foundation I hated, it moved around, blotchy and far from long lasting. Yet a couple days ago I grabbed it last minute running out the door to apply my make up in the car (Passenger not as the driver) and I applied the blush on top of my mineral foundation and found it to work like a dream on it. I was shocked and didn't even realize that until towards the end of the night getting compliments on how I looked in photos we were taking through the night.
