Makeup Shopping Tips

Quick Tips:

Advice??

I am subscribed to a lot of wonderful beauty gurus on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and even on blogger, but there are certain ones that I follow because there skin tone, skin color, and especially type of skin seems to be close to mine, I have combination oily skin that is super sensitive, so when someone with dry skin suggests certain skin care products that have worked out for her, I can't hop up and run to the store. I need to find someone that is closer in the range of my skin, That is my first tip to take advice from someone with similar characteristics in skin and preferences.

Always Try!!

When you go to a counter that has the blush that you want to buy, even if you were given previous advice on that blush and your already semi convinced, don't commit to quick. Swatch the blush on your hand, apply the blush to your face and continue shopping around the mall checking how you look in the mirror in different lighting. It would be nice if the whole world was equipped with the lightening of makeup stores that perfects all the tones in your face as a way to help convince you to buy products. The sad reality of the world is no there is not perfect lighting in every setting that it's needed. Test the hold up of the blush color on your face, does it fade during the day? Does it work well on with your foundation? Is it blendable? Bloctchy? Does the product need a primer? Does it need to be set?

Practise Makes Perfect!

You might be thinking to your self that there is a couple of products you bought but you feel like they don't work for you, remember you need to practise with a product. You need to try applying it different ways to get the feel of the product in the best way possible.  Some products need supporting products like primers. Even something as simple as applying blush you can need practise on because some blushes  with anything heavier than a light dust to the product can leave you looking like a clown. Which in that case the next time you would know to use a lighter hand. Find not only what product works best for you, but what execution works best for you too.

Your Face is a Canvas and you are an Artist!

Experiment ladies! Using different application tools and trying to apply a product with your go-to brush, then with your hands and then maybe a sponge afterwards. Have you ever tried applying your favourite foundation with a damp beauty blender? If you haven't then you should, and you will thank me! Also, try combing up different lipstick colors to get the exact shade you want, a trick I learned from my mom but a good trick indeed. Not just with lipstick but a long while ago I bought a blush that when I put on at home on my fave foundation I hated, it moved around, blotchy and far from long lasting. Yet a couple days ago I grabbed it last minute running out the door to apply my make up in the car (Passenger not as the driver) and I applied the blush on top of my mineral foundation and found it to work like a dream on it. I was shocked and didn't even realize that until towards the end of the night getting compliments on how I looked in photos we were taking through the night.

Liquid Eye Liner Guide? My tips & Faves at least!

Eye liner is something that is a staple in my makeup bag. I love a good winged eyeliner. Every one has there taste when it comes to eyeliner if you are and eye liner fan! Some people apply in their inner waterline, some a little below the waterline, over the eye, and even in your inner tight line.

1. Classic Liquid Liner

Elf Liquid Liner in Black - affordable option

You can find this any where from target to the drugstore. It has a nice point on the brush. The handle to the applicator is is a comfortable hold as well not awkward like other applicators I've used. It is very liquidy consistence might have to shut your eyes to wait for it to dry if your lids touch when your eyes are open.
Price: 1$  <purchase here>

Dior Style Liner Intense - high end option

One of my personal faves! It too has a wand applicator classic style, and its brush is very nice for precision. Its brush on the other hand has a thicker wand and so its slightly awkward but you do get used to it, so its not that bad. The liquid is just as liquidy as the elf liner but I find that it dries much quicker, so you can open your eyes instantly after applying the liner.

2. Pen Form Liquid Liner

The Face Shop Face-It Extreme Eye Liner Pen - Affordable option

The Face Shop might not seem to you as a conventional drug store brand but it does in fact sell affordable make up, this is an advantage of living in Jordan is that we have available to us a melting pot of different brands, The Face Shop is a Korean makeup brand that I find to be one of my favorite stores to hit when I am in the mall. This product is long lasting when it comes to pens they are famous for drying out quick, but this one sticks it out. Its size is comfortable for the hand and is great for creating a flick just would say that you might have to shake it every once in a while to let the product redistribute and flow properly to the tip again.
Price 13$  <purchase here>

Givenchy Liner Couture Precision Felt-Tip Eyeliner

This product I must say was stolen out of my moms makeup bag and I have yet to repurchase it, since it ran out! Although I prefer using the classic liquid eye liners with a applicator rather than a pen, I must say this one is exceptionally amazing. It is everything you want in an eyeliner, small, sleek, precise, comfy to hold and a pure black color. Its not a liquidy liner at all, dries very fast, and it last all day is doesn't fade or budge all day and all night.
Price 30$ <Purchase here>

Sephora Wish List

Thought that I would post something fun figuring that I haven't posted anything in a while! A wish list is always fun and they are kind of like HAULS right?

I mean I am nosey and like to see whats on others peoples wish lists so that I could discover new products, see what I have, don't have... etc. I mean plus the internet these days are FULL of reviews of drugstore makeup including swatches and the whole 9 yards, when I think people should be doing reviews on high end products too! Drugstore makeup makes up 70% of my collection I don't mean to sound like I have a tree that sprouts money. But it is because of the fact that I don't own this said tree (which I wish one day to aquire) that HIGH end makeup should be shed light on, not every day an average Joe walks into Sephora and drops national debt for makeup. With different reviews you can see different opinions and be sure of what you are going to buy or even get a sample of, cause trust me samples can do damage to your face (I would know, I am currently suffering a breakout from a sample I picked up from Clarins).

Anyways ladies I think that's enough of an intro, cause this isn't even a review its a fun post of what I would love to add in my collection.

1. Dior Airflash Foundation

For 62.00 USD <shop item here>

They say this product is amazing, I really want to buy it!

2. NARS bronzer in Casino

For 36.00 USD <shop item here>

I love being tan, I don't fake tan, I naturally tan which is probably really damaging. But this color seems like it would compliment my skin really well in the summer. I heard that Mac has a dupe for NARs' Casino bronzer called Blunt yet, I have Blunt and have swatched this Casino bronzer and feel like the Blunt is a little lighter in color or pigmentation.

3. Bobbi Brown Correcter (Under Eye Color Corrector)

For 23.00 USD <shop item here>

4. St. Tropez Gradual Tan in Medium/Dark

For 30.00 USD <shop item here>

This is of course oddly enough saying I do not self tan, but I think if I were to start from all the great things I have heard about this product I would definatly want to guve this a try and my skin a break from the sun!

5. Murad Acne Complex Kit

For 60.00 <shop item here>

Although I have a bad experience with products to clear acne, but I also have bad acne! So there should be something that helps it, maybe this would be the answer!

Why Invest in High End Bags?

Louis Vuitton, Burberry, Celine, Michael Kors, Channel... etc are bags exploding over the fashion world, coming out with new collections and with the raging trend cycle, your not garunteed that what is in now will be in tomorrow.

Should you invest in a high end bag?

I think that if you are someone who can afford to invest into a high end bag then you should definatly look into it.

Quality?

of most of the high end bags really are worth the price tag most of the time. You should do your research don't be shy to ask people that carry high end bags, if they like them, if the quality holds up, search online, check out different YouTube videos.

Price TAG! -

It might most of the time seem like an ouchy when your looking at those triple digits and even some time 4 digit price tags on some bags, but with your research you will be able to weed out the brands that over charge.

My personal experience and advice for shopping for high end bags.

1. Do your research as I stated above. Not only online and through people, go to the store and ask the workers questions.

2. If you do decide to buy a high end bag, buy the type and look that you love and can see your self still being love with a year from now. Even if you don't really end up wearing the bag for the whole year if you like the bag and buy it because you love it you will most likely be willing to carry the bag in the seasons to come.

3. Warning it will become an addiction when you start on high end bags, try to always keep a mix of different bags and different price points in your collection its not alway about carrying a bag that has a brand that can talk and walk on its own, sometimes its about your outfit or even sometimes about your smile, always keep that in mind.

I hope you all found this article useful, if you have any comments and experiences with high end bags please feel free to comment below or even direct them to my twitter. I would love to know what kind of bags you guys have experience with.

New Years Resolution

2013

I have many blog posts, some that get over 300 views and some that get 3 views, not expecting this one to be up high in there, but I am blogging about this for myself and all those people that it reaches male or female.
I hope that who ever see's this feels inspired to make their own kind of list even if you don't have a blog, vlog or any sort, just put pen to paper and write down all things you are going to ask from yourself for the new year. I feel like everyday is a day to ask yourself to be a better person but with the new year at hands it is nice to make yourself some short term goals. Even if you see this far past New Years.

1. Time Management

- I always have this on my new years resolution list because I feel like we all need to manage our time better not dedicate to much time into one area of our lives but try to find a healthy and comfortable balance. I feel like lately I spend too much time on few areas of my life and should not neglect the other areas that I also see as important.

2. Be Kind and let go

- That really might sound super common and a bit weird to you all thinking to your self, "Just don't be a mean bitch!" Lol But i find that I am rather grumpy and odd all the time, or when things aren't going my way. I need to let go of things a little better, and try to make the situations I am put into better, even if it just by always trying to keep a positive attitude. I am worked up easily and get angry easily not a pretty quality of mine that I am not proud of, but I think I need to put more effort into winding down in the middle of situations.

3. Think ahead

This resolution really is just for me to go back into my old ways being a saver, planning for the long run, I kind of reverted and got into the habit of spending and just being a little more care free than I usually am which isn't a bad thing again but I feel like for this I also need to find a balance and be more organized with my things. Which does kind of overlap into my first resolution which isn't wrong because all these goals are ultimately working to a better me.

Let me know what your New Years Resolution is!

If you like any of mine and want to try to make that your goal for 2013

Kisses to you all!!
